Hey all,

I have another question (i know 3rd question) but this one is about RAM. I am getting the Patrot Viper Steel 16GB kit from Amazon and was wondering what RAM speed I should get. 3000mhz is $118, 3200mhz is $126, 3400mhz is $140, 3600mhz is $150nzd, 3733mhz is $150nzd, 3866mhz is $203nzd, 4000mhz is $215nzd, 4133mhz is $227 and 4400mhz is $340. I was thinking somewhere between 3000mhz and 4000mhz, as 4400mhz is a bit expensive. I could also get the RGB version which looks amazing. Prices are $175 for 16GB of 3200mhz and $285 for 16GB of 4133mhz. If anyone could help me decide between all these options, would be very grateful

Thanks in advance,

Get the fastest you can afford. All the speed rating means is what it is guaranteed to reach and remain stable. It may or may not be stable at higher speed than it is rated for.

I can go upto 4000mhz price wise. I was thinking 3200mhz or 3600mhz because that is where RAM speed for gaming is at the sweet spot

There is another way to look at this as well. Most of the time, RAM greater than 3000/3200MHz won't gain you any performance increase. It might make tinkering with a bit more stable, but only if you know what you're doing. It seems right now that the 3000/3200MHz RAM is the optimum needed. Here is more on that.
