What RAM to Chose?

Hi,
I am building a computer and I am torn between 2 RAM's. The Kingston - FURY 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory and the G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2666 Memory. I have 4 slots on my motherboard and I am using a Ryzen 3 1200. I am open to other RAM's

Anything would be appreciated, thanks!

At their core, "RAM is RAM". I'd recommend the RAM that:
1. Is priced the best when considering CL, speed and capacity
2. Fits your colour scheme (if applicable)
3. Appears on your chosen motherboards QVL

As I mentioned earlier, the QVL is not an exhaustive list though, so just because it doesn't appear on there, doesn't mean it won't "work".

To me, I like the Team Vulcan option, but it appears the Ripjaws V kit is near identical in price.
You can't go wrong with either. *Technically* G.Skill (Ripjaws) are more "popular" and better known..... if that helps any?

Ryzen benefits from faster RAM speeds, ideally ~3000MHz. Beyond 3000MHz there's some diminishing returns.

This kit from Team Vulcan appears to be the best priced kit in that speed range.

It's ~$5 more expensive than kits in the 2400-2666MHz range and would be worth the slightly higher investment.

What about the G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory, do you think that it would perform better or less than the Team Vulcan? I am just not so sure about the Team Vulcan because there is only one review, Thanks!

QVL's are not exhaustive and, while opting for one on the list "guarantees" compatibility, there are likely cheaper options that'll perform just as well - they just happen to have not been tested by the mobo manufacturer. They can't test every kit/module on the market.

Which kit are you looking at specifically?

I believe most of the RipjawsV are CL15 vs 16 on the Team Vulcan kit.
Theoretically, the RipjawsV should perform (very) marginally "better" in benchmarks. In real-world use, there's not likely to be any noticeable difference.

Agreed, but Ryzen is very picky with RAM. If it were intel, i wouldn't worry.

At first, I was looking at the Corsair Vengeance LPX 1x8 DDR4 2400 but then I was think about the Ripjaws V and the HyperX Fury. I saw that a 2x4 kit would perform significantly better than a 1x8.

Moreso on the >3000MHz speeds, but I agree, it's a teeny bit more risky than if we were talking Intel.

Of course, this assumed the OP is actually looking at a B250 or X370 board.

Definitely opt for dual-channel.

Sorry, to take up so much of your time, this is my first PC build, but what do RAM would you recommend most, I would prefer to go with more popular RAM's if possible.
