What ram to pick for z77

Just got an Asrock z77 extreme 4, with i7-3770k

And i need to buy some ram, i was looking to buy this

Do you think that would be a pro choice?

Or do you have better suggestion?


I also heard that you want 1.5 volt memory for ivy bridge cpu's is that right?

Honestly i think 1600Mhz RAM is more than enough... 90 buck for 8gigs? IMO, not worth it...

I pair of 4gig Corsair Vengeance should do just fine...

I agree, Mushkin is overpriced, but if you want the little extra speed with 2133MHz, I would go with this...
G.SKILL Sniper Series 2 x 4Gb 2133MHz CL9 ($80)
(to actually benefit from going up to 2133MHz you have to keep your CL down)

But if you want to just save the money, I would go with this...
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8Gb 1600MHz CL9 ($63)

Im running 15-25 java instances 24/7, Right now 6.1gigs at 1600 allmost hits 100% usage sometimes.

Still using my i7-920 with 1333 ram lol tell i get my entire system

Its 1.5v, and cas 8. And its pretty cheap.

couldent find any low cas 1.5v 2133, so i guess 1600 will do.

Yes, that's a good kit, the performance difference between 1600 and 2133 is about the same as the difference between CL10 and CL8.

If you are running at around 100%, you might want to consider getting 16Gb, it's only around $100 right now

As soon as you hit 100%, your computer starts using your HD or SSD to save any extra information it needs, whats why you may have noticed a sudden drop in performance when you hit 100% on your RAM.

Ya you are right on that, then my pagefile hits 100%, then my system is sooo laggy lol.
Cant wait to get new ram.
