Check motherboard specs.Hello! One question, if I have an I9 12900k with maximum RAM support Up to DDR5 4800 MT/s I can't use a RAM that have SPD Speed (Default) 5600 MT/s?
I can't find this RAM ( https://www.gskill.com/specification/165/374/1681113613/F5-6800J3446F48GX2-TZ5RK-Specification ) in the memory support list for my Z690 AORUS PRO, that's why I asked.Check motherboard specs.
All Intel 600 and 700 series boards should allow ram overclocking.
my Z690 AORUS PRO, that's why I asked.
That I know, my question was if considering that my i9 12900K supports without XMP only max DDR5 4800 MT/s if I use this RAM Kit that has SPD Speed (Default) 5600 MT/s ( this means that the minimum working frequency is 5600 MT/s no? ), will my system boot to let me enable XMP profiles?Support for DDR5 6200(O.C.) / 6000(O.C.) / 5800(O.C.) / 5600(O.C.) / 5400(O.C.) / 5200(O.C.) / 4800 / 4000 MHz memory modules

Without XMP it will boot either to 4800mhz or 5600mhz.my question was if considering that my i9 12900K supports without XMP only max DDR5 4800 MT/s if I use this RAM Kit that has SPD Speed (Default) 5600 MT/s ( this means that the minimum working frequency is 5600 MT/s no? ), will my system boot to let me enable XMP profiles?
Ok, thank you, have a nice day!Without XMP it will boot either to 4800mhz or 5600mhz.
This depends on motherboard BIOS.
After you enable XMP, it will switch to 6800mhz, 6200mhz or somewhere between 5600mhz and 6200mhz.
You'll have to try and see.
Overclocking frequencies are not guarantied.
