What RAM will run at 3000mhz on the Ryzen 1700?

I'm looking to finish my build, the problem is just picking RAM that I know will run at it's clock speed on the asrock x370 Pro Gaming Motherboard. I know Samsung B die Ram will run at its clock speed, but the Flare X and Trident Z choices are expensive! Will 16GB of CL15 3000MHZ DDR4 Ripjaw V run at 3000mhz (stable) on this Mobo with the Ryzen 1700? And does anyone know if it is Samsung B die RAM? I've seen only CL14 @ 3000Mhz and CL15 3200 on lists for certified B Die Ram so far...

Any suggestions would be great, too. Don't need any flashy RAM, just whatever works.

Just about any rated for that frequency will work, it just depends on BIOS and AGESA code. I have Kingston KHX3000 and works fine at it's XMP 2933MHz.

It doesn't have to be Samsung B die ram anymore to run at its intended clock speed with Ryzen?

That was wit early AGESA code, not the case wit AGESA 1006a that's latest, still new one to come in another month or so or so rumor goes. Stll, the better me memory it is, better it overclocks.

Thanks! So does it matter between CL14,15, and 16 for the Ram? I was going to get CL15 3000MHZ because there is about a $50 difference between the 3000 and 3200 variants.

Cas latency counts just as much as with any other system but I can tel that faster memory sits well with Ryzen, I get better CPU scores with faster memory, unlike FX processors where it didn't matter much. How much that matters is more of less a matter of perception and program/game needs but in border cases may come handy. Now at least it's not behind Intel.

Do you think it would be worth it to spend $50 now for a mere few % increase from 3000 to 3200, or wait and buy much better ram down the road?

I elected to save money with 3000MHz RAM because that much difference is practically invisible except in tests. Later there may be possible to achieve 4000 MHz as some already did but at the cost of some insane voltages. Can't tell what future will bring.

With latest BIOS and AGESA 1006, any RAM should be able to run at that frequency.

why put a non-X 1700 on a n X mother board ? i think you gotta have an X ryzen if you want to OC your ram , cpu OC's the ram not motherboard

Because I can OC the 1700 to be nearly the same as the 1700x. I also don't want to OC the ram, I just want 3000mhz RAM to run @ 3000mhz and not crash or only be able to run at a lower clock speed.

Ryzen 7's seem to have problems running RAM at it's intended speed unless it is Samsung B die RAM...

i'm not sure but you seem to be using a non-OC cpu on an OC motherboard . i said that in a previous thread too and before that too . but people seem to be oblivious to this fact . if you get an OC ryzen then you get the chance to fiddle with your RAM frequencies even more .. just like intel

Am I missing something? You CAN overclock the 1700 and the taichi and the Pro gaming from Asrock are the only totally stable boards for the Ryzen 7 lineup.
