I have the AMD Radeon HD 7800 series. So what resolution can it go up to because I've been thinking of getting a 2560x1440 monitor.

I wish I knew, I opened up the AMD Radeon settings and said it was the 7800 series.

Why not gaming? For sure I'm gonna use it for other things. (wink wink, Nah just kidding.)

Yes those videos need to been seen in very high details....for eh research purposes ofcourse. haha

No but the gpu is probably not strong enough for gaming at that resolution, well not for ultra settings. Maybe low-medium settings though. Not sure if you mind that?

I'm okay with playing games on low settings.

Oke, can you find out which model it is? you can probably find it in device manager. It helps usto decide if it will work or not.

I have the XFX Radeon HD 7850.

My GPU is the XFX Radeon HD 7850

I would not advise someone to randomly pick a monitor 'just because'. You have 3 things to coordinate- your use(games, movies, etc), your videocard, and your monitor. If your use and your videocard allow 1080p then 1440p monitors shouldn't even be considered.

If you have decided on a 1440p monitor, then you should also be ready to upgrade your videocard to match. Consider that part of the cost of the monitor upgrade.

If you decide to do it the cheap way and try to run it all with your current videocard, then don't be surprised if you're not happy with the results and wind up buying a videocard anyways.

My fault, I meant to say me and my dad might trade monitors.

Ok thanks.
