[SOLVED] What resolution should I choose?

I have an 1440x900 monitor, and I wanted to go 1440p, but I do not what to choose, 1440p or 4k. Can somebody help me? I use photoshop, youtube, games (Not completely resource-hard games like half-life 1, 2, CS:GO, CS:S, L4D2, Minecraft, Roblox, Portal 2. If you ask if I am a kid, No, I'm not a kid.). I rarely even stream. I made a poll.

I’d go with 4K better for content watching and creation however if you have less than a gtx 1060 those games probably won’t do that well in 4K

I got to use temporarily a 1080P monitor, and it allowed to use 2K, it worked perfectly! Over 75FPS in HL2, CS:GO, CS:S.

Those games are over 10 years old by this point if your getting 75fps on 1080p you can expect it to be borderline unplayable with 4K. What is your system specs?

Its not 75FPS at 1080p. Its 75fps at 2k.

Up to 32" QHD, 2K, or 1440p is the way to go. And then the screen got bigger, there you have issues with DPI, so I am not a fan of 4K.

For 4K, GTX 1070, 1660 is not enough, enough but you will not see good fps numbers.

So if you are into gaming, QHD, 2K, 1440p is the way to go.

I also gonna buy an GTX 1080 FE someday. 2K worked pervfectly, I natively never experienced 2K, and NEVER seen 4K.

Someday? Buy a good QHD monitor and buy 1080 or 2080. They all will be fine. 4K is for TVs. QHD is good for monitors up to 32". Anything bigger would not fit the table, and you will need to move your head one side to other. But if you will put your monitor 3-4 meters away, it is something else, but then is it a monitor or TV I am not sure.

Not true I have a 1070 and have been playing games nearly maxed out in 4K with 60-70fps for a long time sure I’m not playing the greatest newest titles but I’m not playing games that have an engine from the beginning of the new millennium. And before that I used a gtx 750 to play Minecraft in 4K. When you buy a 1440 monitor I see that as more for gaming it sounds like they are kinda 50/50 and I know I myself would take the resolution in that situation and that’s what I did I valued the resolution for content viewing over gaming experience because I play games 35% of the time and the rest is videos and sometimes photo editing.

What about 3440x1440P? It places you between 1440P and 4K and being a ultra wide gives good gaming immersion. The only thing you'd want to double check is to make sure your games support 21:9 (google <game name> 21:9 and see results). Even if the game doesn't support 21:9 natively then there's usually a fix.

Suggestion? I No no it is not about your language, I just meant that we always think that we will buy something someday, and that someday somehow never comes. I just wanted to point out that.

Use the default resolution of the screen because the games aren't so recent.

1. 60-70 fps are not good numbers for many people.
2. For new games what I wrote is true. For older games you are right, but it does not make what I wrote wrong.

I suppose it’s up to the individual I have a 144hz monitor as well and it’s nice to have the fps but most other content can’t use it and if you aren’t a competitive gamer I wouldn’t say it’s necessary to have more fps
