What\'s the use of an amplifier

Hi

I recently bought Steelseries Siberia V2 (Believe it or not it's a new headset in Egypt) but the sound output is really low, it's probably because I'm using my onboard sound card, so I was wondering if buying a soundcard with an amplifier will help, or should I just buy a USB headset amplifier, if it will is there any good ones around the price of 35$ ?

It could be just your settings in windows and the dedicated sound card on your motherboard.

Soundcards don't really have an amp inside them, but it may help you with sound quality and volume level. You should check your Windows sound level the sound options in whatever you are listening to. Also if the headset has an in-line volume control, check that.
