what score should I get

I have a ATI AIW 8500dv on my nforce2 mobo with 2500+ @400FSB (3200+) and I have 8157 3dmark2001. Is that ok? I'm not really into game, but the ones I've tried were running good.

well , on my 1700+, KT333 mobo/384megs ddr333, and 8500le (250/250) i could get about 8k

i hit 8016, with no overclocking. (wel the 8500 is at 250/250 up frmo 230/230, but 8500les are SUPPSOSED to be at 250/250 anyways so..)


so id say you should be able to hit 10k

try different drivers, fresh install of windows, checking for background programs/syware etc.

give your system a good going over, you should be gettin a bit more ooomf than that

I'll tell you, I'm not a score freak, I just wanted to know if my 8500 was OK. And for what I see, it is, because I think that AIW 8500 card are clocked a bit slower than simple board. When I play game, I dont disable all of my programs running in BG just to get 10 fps more. So I wont spend hours of tuning and end up with an unstable system. It run stable now, fast enough for me. And this is what matter.

yah, it seems to be working good. definately not a bad score. but PERSONALLY i would try to get it working better =)

but if you happy with it, and its stable, then awesome

btw, do you have a link to your 3dmark score? im just curious to see if the fillrate etc is up where its supposed to be, or what its like on an AIW

d00d, the 8500DV is underclocked, like the 8500LE.

I recall the 8500DV being clocked at 230/190. So I'd say that score is pretty darn good. I could be wrong though.

It is just that I think that if you overclock the card, you may have problem with the TV or capture chip on the board because they need like a standard clock frequency to be NTSC or video friendly.

something like that. and I use the multimedia feature of the board much more often that its gaming feature, like 95% multimeda and 5% gaming.

no, I dont have a link. may do one later. I'll rerun the benchmark to see if I can give you that info right here.

Ok, some numbers now;

FPS in low detail are around 120 +/-5 fps. in high,65 +/-5 too.

fill rate single texturing is 620.8 mtexels/s and multi texturing is 1508.5.

high polygon count with1 light, 32.9 mtriangles/s and with 8 light, 8.1.

I got 21.4 msprites/s in point sprites.

oh, and my score in now at 8165, 8 more than the last time.
