really, that depends on what you want to achieve. Thats a really decent gaming system. Will do great at 1080p 60hz with all the graphical eye candy turned on. If you are considering a monitor upgrade, then you could just get a new GPU.
You could add in 8gbs of ram, because a lot of games use over 8gbs, so 16gbs is the sweetspot now.
Apart from that the 1600 is a great CPU, and will drive any single high end GPU or SLI/Crossfire set up fine. It's also great at streaming whilst gaming, and gives great results.
Hey Keith thanks for your response.
Yeah its either a monitor upgrade or ram I think. I see we have very similar setup's, what is your voltage on your cpu and what are the temps like?
Ram would be first thing. Try get a matched kit (2 x 8gb) so it will work flawlessly. If you just grab another 8gb generic stick, it may not work. Even if you get the same DIMM you currently have, that may not work. Normally with a bit of tinkering around with timings and voltage you may be able to get them to work.
Depends on the monitor res. For 1080p the GTX1060 is perfect. For 120-144hz 1080p/1440p @60hz a GTX1070 or even a 1080 for some games. For anything above you need a GTX1080ti for max settings at @60FPS (4k res)
I've my CPU clocked at 3.9 @ 1.3v with temps now steady at about 72-75c on Prime95 Small FFT's for 8hrs. It's rock solid. I will prob push 4/4.1 but I may have to increse vcore to 1.35/1.37 which will defo push my temps up. But as long as i don't go over 80c then Ill be happy.
What about you, what voltage/temps?
