So this is my pc: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/PjmhYT
And I feel like the cpu is a bit slow compared to my gpu cause when I got the pc 3 years ago the i5 4460 was really good and now when I run games the FPS I’m getting isn’t that high plus when I go to task manager my cpu % is always above 90 so I want to get an upgrade. Here’s my question do get a new cpu that fits my mother board or do I get a new cpu and mother board
and what cpu/mother board do I get? Keep mind I live in Canada and keep it as cheap as possible so no more that $400 cad. Thank you
Oh I also have 16gb of ram now and my power supply is a cooler master.

Solution
Due to your budget restriction I would just fine a used i7-4790K and give your current system a few more years. It should last you as long as your GTX 1070 will last you as far as gaming performance.

*Actually, since you have a non-overclocking mobo, let's see what you can get for $400 CAD.

Well, you will still be limited to 8GB RAM, so that's a downgrade. But, it's faster RAM and will be enough for the most part. I'm just not too sure the Ryzen 5 1600 is faster than the i7-4790K even at stock. I think the 4790K is faster.

Solution

Wait Why do I have to get new ram? I already have 16gb

Could I buy all of that and put my old mobo, cpu and ram in to that it would work right? So I would have upgraded my pc and have another pc for my dad

What ram should I get cause the thing is my setup is blue and black so I can’t have red ram lmao
Also thank you for the help

Yeah, that's good stuff. It has a low voltage of 1.2V, so it could possibly overclock to 3000MHz at 1.35V. Corsair LPX is better quality than most cheaper RAM.

I have LPX 2400 C14 1.2V and it can do 3200 C16 1.35V
That you linked to is 2666 C16 1.2V, so it won't have as much gain since it is already higher CAS (C16), but has room to increase voltage to get more speed.

Okay thank you a lot for all the help
