[SOLVED] What should I buy?

I bought the Dell S2716 Gaming monitor 144hz with G-sync (https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Gaming-S2716DGR-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B0149QBOF0/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1538870587&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=dell+gaming+s2716dgr+27.0%22+screen+led-lit+monitor+with+g-sync&dpPl=1&dpID=41sg9mHPCGL&ref=plSrch), and I have the dell Inspiron 15 7567 gaming laptop that only has one HDMI port. I have read an article that tells me ‘the dell S2716DG can’t get you 144hz on HDMI’ so I want to buy an adapter. In this case, do I have to buy displayport to hdmi or hdmi to displayport?

What are you looking to achieve? I assume gaming on that 144hz monitor. Can you laotop push high fps in games you play to take advantage for this monitor? If yea then go for it.
