First question, depends on what your needs are and system specs.

2nd question, I would say nothing specific should need to be done, if you installed the CPU and heatsink properly.

Unless you are performing highly threaded tasks like rendering or video encoding, that CPU upgrade was probably pointless. What do you use your PC for?
