Hello community i purchase a hard drive today and i connect it with my pc and because the dvd writer is dead i try to install windows via usb (the usb is working i put the windows into my main pc) and i go into bios i try to boot it but nothing happen . Is it any problem with the the harddrive off put it on my other pc put windows and put it but on the old or this will hurt my hard drive any suggestion ?? Thanks a lot :??: 😛

1) You have to install Windows when the hard drive is connected to the PC you will be using. You can't just install it on another PC and move it over.

2) FYI, you can't use the same copy of Windows for two PC's anyway.

3) USB boot issue:
Since it sounds like your USB drive is bootable I'm unsure what the problem is. Either your motherboard doesn't support boot by USB or else you don't have it enabled properly as the first boot device in the BIOS.
