Ive been debating lately on whether or not to get a i7 vs the i9 I would be gaming and streaming, I really want to stream and I know that’s pretty cpu intensive but I want my frame rate to suffer as little as possible . I’ve been reading about the i79700 and the 8700 about how they
are pretty similar in performance even compared to the i9, but idk if that sounds right to me., and I don’t have the money to test it my self 😂some help clearing the confusion for me would help!!

Solution
TBH im not a streamer so the encoders and settings confuse me aswell.

From what i gather framerate depends on settings. With 1080p 60 and the fastest settings you will be looking at great performance. Nobody really streams at 1440p or 1080p 120 as he said in the vid.

Around 16:50 is the wrap up for the last game where the 9900k struggles on your end but the 3900x didnt.
Gaming and streaming simultaneously likes strong clocks, but above all, many cores and threads. While both I7s and I9s may have close performance in games, the extra load from streaming while gaming will want as many cores and threads as possible, making the I9 worth the increase in cost. The higher clocked 9700k and 9900k pull away from the 8700k all around, but the 9900k is the best.

AMD offers the 12 core/24 thread, Ryzen 9 3900x for $499. It has a 4.6ghz boost clock and includes a stock cooler, unlike the I9.
It is based on 7nm and very efficient so it will work on a $200 X570 motherboard and the included RGB AMD Wraith Spire cooler.

In gaming alone, the i9 9900k is less than 10% better than the ryzen overall, but the Ryzen wins or ties the I9 in games like GTA and Csgo. Gaming while streaming will perform much better on the Ryzen 9 compared to the 9900k or any I7. Also, video editing in programs like premier will be much smoother and faster on the 12 core Ryzen 9.

Agree with going to Ryzen, for anything other than just gaming, Ryzen is better - the 12 core will run every game out there and stream it just as well. The i9 might also be able to do it in most games, but the 3900X is the much better choice still.

This covers streaming.

He says towards the end, "If you are going to be single PC streaming, id lean heavily to the 3900x"
Thanks for your suggestions and the video, I just have a couple of questions because I found the video a little confusing. So if we’re to steam in 1080p60 i would only be getting 30 FPS?!?!! That seems a little low, so was that for 1440p or 1080, I just want to be sure. I still wanna get 60fps or higher while streaming. Btw I’d be streaming in 1080p idk yet if I’d be 1080p60 or 30.

Thanks for helping clear that up that make more sense
