Question What should I upgrade first?

So, I don't really know what should I upgrade. My SSD or my RAM. I do game alot and use virtual machines. and I don't like the way that it only has 2GB on my virtual machine. and I really wanna boost my startup and boost when I move files. I only have 1 money for the two of them.

What should I do?

RAM
RAM is the most effective upgrade you can make. 8Gb is the current minimum with most new builds having 16GB.
lack of RAM will force paging operations which if on SSD can trash the cells with un-needed R/W operations.
RAM then SSD or other storage

I would definitely go upgrade the ram. I have a pc with 4gb of ram and I am suffering greatly on games, my 7200rpm hdd has enough speed and I dont mind to wait longer than having frames drops while playing.
