Question What should I upgrade first?

I wanted to upgrade my cpu+motherboard or my gpu. I was going to get a i5-13600k with a compatible motherboard or a 3070. If there are better options for a $300-$450(cpu+motherboard or gpu) budget please let me know. Thank you for your help

gpu: rtx 1080
cpu: i7-9700f
motherboard: z390 pro wifi
ram: 32 gigs ddr4 3600mhz
monitor res: 2560x1440

I play a lot of cpu heavy games like escape from tarkov, not many graphically extensive games, so upgrading cpu seemed obvious but I was wondering if I would get bottle necked by my gpu. Thanks.

That's a tough call. You have a decent cpu and RAM which leaves the gpu but they're pretty expensive atm for your resolution. Maybe an SSD if you don't already have one.

I already got a decent ssd, I cant remember the name off the top of my head but its not bad, thanks.
