What should I upgrade my graphics card to?

I recently bought a new computer and it has been running fairly smooth, but I would like to upgrade the graphics card and the power supply in order to get better fps and be able to play more demanding games. Below are some of the specs for my computer:

8GB Ram
500 Watt PSU (Plan on upgrading with graphics card)
GT520 Graphics Card
AMD Quad-Core FX-4300 Processor

I am very new at all of this, so any help is greatly appreciated. I am looking for a very good quality graphics card and power supply that could allow me to get 200+ fps in games like minecraft. Thanks for the help and if there is any information I need to add please tell me.

Up to $250 not looking for something insane, just something practical that would get the job done, not looking for the best settings.

Your cpu will not bottleneck, it is perfectly fine. People go around saying a cpu will bottleneck too much on here, kind of pisses me off. For that range you could get a 270x or 760 and not have to upgrade your psu.

Just from what I have read my psu is pretty crappy, so I am not sure if I would want to upgrade my card without getting at least a little better psu. Can you link me to those two cards?

Alright if I was to buy option 1, and the 270x, how well do you think that would run?

extremely well at 1080p for any steam game, minecraft and skyrim. the 270x is a pretty decent card. It won't kill the high end games, but at least run them. you should go with the second one since they are the same price, it will save you an extra cable to 2.

Alright, would you recommend buying the card and trying out to see if my psu can handle it and then trying out that power supply. Also are there any slightly cheaper alternatives to the two cards that would perform in about the same range?

Gtx760 is the stronger card but also pricier.

Seasonic builds good quality PSU and it has the same price as corsair CX (corsair builds good PSU except CX 😀)

The 270 is the next one down and should do well for most of the games you play.

The 270 seems like it could handle anything I would be wanting to do, would the current psu in my pc be able to handle it? Or should I look to upgrade to the SeaSonic or Corsair?

500W should do fine, wouldn't be a bad idea if you don't mind the $50 for the corsair as the quality difference would be a lot, but as far as powering the system the 500W should do fine.
