Question What should I upgrade my GTX 1060 3GB to?

So I got my Pre-built PC 2 years ago for $1k and have had 0 problems but now that the new game Apex Legends came out my game has been crashing some say its the game but I still think I should upgrade my PC a bit. I ran system requirements for Apex Legends, of course, I passed the minimum but I didn't pass the recommended on 1 thing and that was that my dedicated video RAM on my Video Card wasn't enough it said 8gb required and I have 5gb so I think I should upgrade my GTX 1060 3gb. Pricing doesn't matter but don't go overkill.

Sorry, where do you have 5GB?
Apex Legends "recommended" requirements are a 970 or R9 290, so you're right in the same ballpark.

Of course you can upgrade, but a 3GB 1060 is still a respectable 1080p card. If you were to step up, I'd look to a minimum 1660TI if I were you. A 6GB 1060 is an upgrade, but not too much. A 1070 or 1660TI would be a worthwhile step up, and the minimum I'd consider

What PSU do you have?

As for crashes, it may well be a driver related issue opposed to anything vRAM related.
Try removing your GPU drivers with DDU in safemode:

In Features: Recommended attributes of your Video Card it says Dedicated Video RAM and the required is 8gb and it said I have 5.0 GB.
I was thinking of getting a 1070 but do you think I should go higher for better performance or is it fine.
I have no idea what Power Supply I have cause it came pre-built from BestBuy and at the time had no idea what was good in a PC or not I looked for my PC on the BestBuy website to see if I can find all my specs but couldn't find the PC I bought 2 years ago.
Yes, I heard about it being driver related and I think I fixed the problem but I was still thinking i should upgrade since i bought the PC pre-built 2 years ago and haven't touched or looked at anything about since then.

Addendum:

In reference to the error message, I recommend that you navigate to the video settings and lower the "Texture streaming budget" option from Insane (8GB VRAM), to a choice that's appropriate for 3GB of VRAM.
