I am currently not very happy with how loud my computer runs. I have many factors contributing to all the noise, so I wanted to list them here and see which one I should upgrade for the most significant improvement in noise. So, here they are:
Did I miss anything? What do you guys think should be my next upgrade? Which upgrade would make the most significant improvement in noise reduction?
Thanks for any advice
Case: I have a Raidmax Super Viper. It has poor airflow, and even though it's normal size for a mid tower, the terrible layout of the inside really limits my cooling options and graphics card options.
Fans: I have 6 fans, not including the ones on the graphics card. The front and rear are 120mm Raidmax fans that came with the case, so they can't be too good. The two fans at the top are 120mm Apevia fans that I bought for $6 each, so again, nothing special. Then I have two 92mm Cooler Master fans on my Hyper TX3.
Cooler: I originally wanted to use a Hyper 212 Evo, but it's too tall to fit in my case, so I got a Hyper TX3. There's not much of an upgrade path here because coolers that use 120mm fans will not fit in case, but I do know that 92mm fans are louder than bigger fans.
CPU: I have an AMD FX-6300. There are many processors out there that perform better and have a lower TDP. This doesn't directly contribute to noise, but a lower TDP would allow me to run the cooler fans at slower speeds.
Graphics Card: I have an XFX Radeon HD 7950, with the Double D cooler. It's definitely one of the louder/hotter 7950 coolers out there. Also, some newer cards are more powerful and have a lower TDP.
