What should I upgrade next?

Hello, lately my computer has been running slower and am looking to upgrade it. should I upgrade my i5-3570K or my Radeon HD 7870? I am going to be in college soon for mechanical engineering, and will be doing some light gaming. What would be the best to upgrade first?

Are you using a hard drive or solid state drive?

For "running slower" get an SSD
For betting gaming FPS and performance a new GPU like a 480 or GTX 1060.

Your CPU is still adaquate.

the 3570K is still a relevant processor imo.(especially when overclocked) A GTX 1060 is an excellent upgrade.

I'd suggest a new graphics card, the RX 480 is on sale atm for $164.99 after rebate.
