What should I upgrade on my PC? (Getting ready for the boxing day sales!)

As the title states, I've had this setup for over a year now and haven't gotten to chance to really enjoy it (Budget gaming) as I was in school, but since I'm now done and going to be working full time, I'm actually hoping to get back into PC gaming and maybe some video editing.

It may seem a little backwards to say but this build sort of works for me, BUT I would love to upgrade something(s) as I can see the system starting to slow down a bit.

Looking for an advice/opinions from anything as small as fans all the way up to a motherboard/cpu combo or anything in between.

I'm on the fence to just grab a new case (Crystal 460x) and better RGB lighting and possibly a new monitor.

How much of your hard earned money can we spend? Be sensible, don't sell body parts for the upgrades. 😉

The base system is a good one, switching to a new MB/CPU/RAM won't give a very large improvement, I'd hold on to the current setup for another year or so and maybe, just maybe, look for a faster CPU, probably you'll need to go through Craiglist, Ebay or similar, new parts that'll suit the motherboard can still be found but they're usually stupidly overpriced.

You'll get the largest and most immediate improvement by getting a faster graphics card, a GTX 1060 will really make a difference while a GTX 1070 will be a nearly night-and-day improvement over the current GTX1050Ti.

Which way would you like to go with a possible monitor upgrade? Larger panel but still at 1080 rez? Or maybe a faster/larger panel but still at 1080? How about a nice 2K display?

Hahah of course not. I honestly think I'm willing to spend around..500ish? The 1050Ti I just got a week ago and I'm able to return it for a refund and put it towards a stronger card. There's a couple of sales going on but the best I've found is a Zotac GTX 1070 going for $500 before taxes and a Gigabyte Windforce GTX 1060 6GB going for $350. I think I might grab the 1060 and a new monitor (24" 144hz 1080p) to replace the 22" I have and use the new one as my main monitor.

I ended up grabbing a 1070 but it was a lemon so I returned it the next day. Soooooo I then threw those funds towards a 27" IPS monitor, dual monitor stand (to run the 27 and 24in, definitely gonna grab another 27in in the future), a Corsair 460x and new RGB lighting haha.

Funny enough, the GTX 1050Ti seems to be doing just fine with anything I throw at it and omg, this IPS display is amazing.
