Lately in games like Black Ops 4 and GTA 5 i have been experiencing fps drops and sudden freezes that last about 1-3 seconds each and they happen every 30 or so seconds. I never had this issue before and it just suddenly started happening. As you know christmas is coming up and I do not know what I should upgrade on my pc. I also do not know if I even need to upgrade anything. I have reset my pc and it is still happening.

My pc specs are

Processor: AMD FX-8350 Vishera Quad Core 4.0 GHz / 4.2 GHz Turbo
Motherboard:AM3+ 970 Chipset Gaming Motherbaord
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB
Memory: High Performance 8GB DDR3 1866 MHz Gaming Memory
Hard Disk: 120GB SSD & 1TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive
Power Supply: 600 Watts High Performance 80 PLUS Certified Power Supply
Operating System Windows 10 Professional 64-bit

Solution

I think the Ryzen upgrade is a good idea. +1
What is the exact motherboard you have? A lot of cheaper motherboards can have overheating issues with the VRM when paired with the 125W FX-8350.

What is the exact power supply you have? A lot of cheaper power supplies can say whatever they want, but that doesn't mean they are capable of doing that. Though, your power supply is likely not the issue here.

You could benefit from a new CPU/Mobo/DDR4 RAM setup.
