So, i'm VERY new to PC gaming. i got this PC from a friend a few weeks ago, and although it seems to run some games fine, other, more demanding games don't run very well at all. Forgive my ignorance, as i mentioned i don't know much about parts and how good they are, but i'm open to learning.

Here are my specs:

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU: AMD Athlon X4 750K Trinity 32nm Technology
RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard: MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 (MS-7721) (P0)
Graphics: 2048MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 6670 (XFX Pine Group)
Storage: 931GB Seagate ST310005 28AS SATA Disk Device (SATA)
Optical Drives: ATAPI iHAS124 D SATA CdRom Device
Audio: AMD High Definition Audio Device

Let me know if i missed anything, i'll add it asap.
I appreciate the help and advice.
Thanks!

For gaming, the GPU is most important as it does most of the hard work during gaming. If you are gaming at 1080p and on a budget, the 1050ti is a great option at only £150 it can run games at medium to high settings at 60fps in most cases. I have one for my sons PC at it is awesome for the money. If you have more cash to spend I would suggest a 1060 or 1070.

The CPU should cost aroun £170-200 and anything over 4 cores is a waste (for gaming). Try and get faster cores in preference to more cores for gaming PC's. If you plan on upgrading the motherboard, try and avoid spending money on a CPU which is compatible with old technology. You need to decide if you are going to keep that mobo for some time, if so, go ahead and upgrade the cpu...

You need to decide if you are going to keep that mobo for some time, if so, go ahead and upgrade the cpu but if you plan on upgrading, it might be worth holding back on the CPU and just upgrading both at the same time.

RAM would be a cheap upgrade as your RAM is very old and slow. Look for anything compatible with your mobo and aim for 8gb. Again, 8gb is the least you should have for gaming

SSD will offer significantly faster load speeds over old mechanical hard drives but can be pricey. You can always swap that out in the future if you wish.
