Hi,

My motherboard is Gigabyte H97n-WIFI micro and I have a GeForce GTX 650

I would like to update my video card but not sure which one suitable for under $500?

Any suggestions? I was looking at this one

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/VGAEVG6162/EVGA-GeForce-GTX1060-Graphics-Card-3GB-GDDR5-OC-Ve

I have a AOC Monitor 27"

Resolution 1920 x 1080 x 60 hertz
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4590 CPU @ 3.30GHz, 3301 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB

Power Supply is thermaltake power supply 500W

The good news is even a 1050 will be a massive improvement over the 650. You left out some important information. Your CPU and the monitor resolution for starters. Also, I'm assuming this upgrade is for gaming. Your power supply make and model is important to know.

An RX 570 or GTX 1060 3gb would be solid choices for 1080p gaming assuming your CPU is quad core or better. 27" is kind of large for a 1080p monitor, so if it's something like 1440p then you'll want a 1070 for gaming. Then again, you've lived with a 650 all this time so maybe a 1060 would make you happy.

Hi, Thank you for the reply

I brought the geforce one this morning. Plus I can't fit double fan ones in my case at the moment.

It's actually the single fan version and if it does come back into stock before the return policy ends on that 1050 ti it may be something to consider getting as you could gain a significant amount of FPS depending on the game. Plus if your monitor supports Freesync then it would be a feature you could utilize to help with screen tearing/stuttering.

Sorry my monitor does not support free sysnc. I am happy with the one I have chosen as I said will be a better one that my one now which is the 650
