[SOLVED] What should I upgrade to?

I currently have a i7 950
Gtx 760 sli
And I know it’s super old and I know my cpu is holding my gpu performance back
So I just want to upgrade to something better, with a budget of about 350 cad but it’s pretty flexible

NOTE:
Just found a mobo/cpu/ram combo on kijiji and 310$ with a i7 4790 and sli ready motherboard with 16gb of ram and I was just wondering if it’s I should go for it or not

Since you are going to need CPU+MoBo+RAM, you may need to budget an extra $100 or so:

• Ryzen 3600, ~$210
• B450 motherboard with 3rd-gen compatibility, ~$130
• 16GB of DDR4-3000+, ~$100

Note that budget boards aren't licensed for Nvidia SLI, so you won't be able to use SLI on those and you'd have to step up to X470/570 for that, so add another $50-100 if you aren't planning to upgrade to a more powerful single GPU any time soon.

Ryzen is better bang for buck. Intel costs more. 9600k has better single core performance and higher frame rates as a result BUT is core challenged in a lot of modern games where more cores/threads would shine. For your sli setup though, frame rates probably won't be high enough to trouble it. If were to upgrade gpu in future, and if went Intel, no less than a 8700/8700k or 9700/9700k with a decent cooler. Ryzen comes with a pretty good stock cooler so if have good case air flow, there's some money saving.

This would be a good upgrade, but would still need a PSU.

True. As said, licensing, and pcie slots need to run atleast 8 & 8. There are x470 boards sli capable.

Have you thought about upgrading to a single card? Gtx 1060 would be a step up from two 760's. 1st gen i7 doesn't have support for AVX instructions which a lot of games use nowadays so that alone would be a huge improvement and could get away with one 760 if you do consider an gpu upgrade in future.

It would, but SLI/Crossfire is barely even a thing in 2020 and if you're modernizing your PC to run modern games, you may find that your GPUs will struggle. Only a few games released nowadays have multi-GPU scaling that could be described as better than abysmal and many games are no longer even recognizing a second GPU.

sell your two gpus and get the 1060 or 970 it would be better
and you dont need to buy sli supported board so you can go for 2nd intel like i5 6500 and b250 mobo for cheap
