What should I upgrade?

I have a system with an AMD Athlon X4 860K, 8 gb DDR3 RAM and a Nvidia Gtx 750 ti. I want to upgrade my pc, but I don't know if I should first upgrade the processor to an Intel 6700K (and of course new ram and a new motherboard), and wait untill the gtx 1060 comes out, or just upgrade to a gtx 960/970 now, and upgrade my processor later. Or is there another processor that I can better buy (I don't really have a lot of money, so I was also thinking about buying something like an Intel I5-4690 or 4460). My budget is somewhere around €800-900 ($900-1000), I live in the Netherlands, so prices are pretty screwed up here. I plan to buy an overclocking motherboard despite what cpu I choose so I can always overclock later, and I use my PC mainly for gaming and maybe a bit of editing for fun. Can anyone help me?

Processor now.
I say that since, the rumored 1060 will prolly destroy the 970 and maybe match the 1080, based on the new 1070/1080

Also, you don't need an i7. An i5 will game just as well in 99% of games. You only need hyperthreading when rendering or other thread-needy things

So you're saying I should upgrade my CPU and wait for the 1060? And if I had to choose between upgrading my CPU or my gpu what should I choose?

CPU.
AMD sockets are dead, except for FM2+(and even then...)
Intel dominates the CPU market, and if you upgraded the GPU now, it would be bottlenecked badly. Also, it would be a waste to get even a Titan now with the new gen...
