What should i upgrade?

Hi my cpu is an intel 13 6100 and my gpu is a 1050 ti ive had both these compenents for around 3-4 years now and i think i should upgrade the reason is that my pc keeeps crashing when i play games and my gpu fans go to max when it crashes does this mean i should get a new gpu or is it something to do with my cpu sorry if this sound dumb but i have been told my cpu is underpowered compared to my gpu and help is appreciated thanks.

It's not crashing because of you having old hardware, that's another problem. Did you overclock the GPU? Have you messed with the baseclock on your motherboard? What kind of RAM are you using and at what speeds? Have you tried uninstalling all of your graphics drivers with DDU and reinstalling? What kind of power supply do you have? It could be a lot of things, but it's not just because your hardware isn't new.

I think you need new CPU first. Then go for GPU. You can get an i5 6400 or i5 7400 (before that update your BIOS). Then you Can go for RX 570 or GTX 1060 or better.
