I have an HP dm4-3055dx and it has an i5-2430M. I want to know when the temperature is too high whenever the computer gets old. Can someone tell me the maximum temperature.

Solution
Intel reports a Tjunction of 100*C, so in theory it could be a 99*C without being damaged. But, as a general rule, its best to keep intel CPUs from running at 70*C or less.

Solution
The temps can get too high for reasons beside old age.
Like, if you block the intake vents.
If you don't clean the cooling system often enough a build up of dust can push your temps too high.

My computer is usually running at 42*C to 57*C, is that bad since it is under 70*C.
