What size and type of nut and bolt to buy for my CPU heatsink?

I have typical LGA 775 motherboard and CPU heatsink fan. The push-pins broken now and I want to replace them with nuts and bolts instead for future easy maintenance. How do I buy the nuts and bolts?

The mounting holes in the motherboard won't have screw threads, and nor will they have the depth for you to make some.

You're better off just buying another cooler.

I see CPU backplates. Do you know how to install it? Do I put them at back of motherboard and connect to heatsink with screws?

Thank you. I wonder if I can take off those pins altoghether and use screw and backplate in place?
