I am looking to put two evga 660 sc in my gaming PC. Right now I have a single 660 with a 500 watt power supply
My CPU is a i5 2500k
Motherboard is an asrock z75 pro3
Was wondering what size power supply I need to run everything safely
Yeah I would recommend a 750w PSU from XFX. Arguably the most reliable manufacturer for PSUs, setting aside of course that corsair xfx and a couple others are made by the same parent company.
Actually there is some untrue info you posted there.
MANY Corsair units are low quality and NOT made by Seasonic (makes of XFX PSUs).
Not many companies use Seasonic as an OEM actually. Only like 4-5. The are about as good as it comes though. Some other VERY good OEMs are Delta and SuperFlower.
I generally recommend staying away from Corsair as their low/mid range PSUs are not very good.
Actually, many of the AX series PSUs and a couple CXs are manufactured by Seasonic. I agree corsair is not better quality than XFX, which is why I recommend XFX over Corsair.
That's great. The ones you listed are cheaper and I know they are not quality. That's kind of why I spent the time to type the above PSUs out, because those are (not the CX, but everything else).
The ones I listed are not all cheaper. I agree the Cx line inc heap and to be always avoided. But, the RM units, and CSM units are decently expensive. Corsair fools people into thinking they are good quality. I am not a big Corsair fan, as they pull tricks like this with almost every product they sell.
