Hello fellow geeks!!!! <3

the time has come to upgrade my graphics card, reason being i have just built a racing simulator pod with a logitech g25 setup, and will be buying a Sony 55HX850 in the next week, and want to be able to play some kickass games in 3D !!!
Here is a picture for those interested http://iforce.co.nz/i/xfnegm5n.kqm.jpg

This won't be solely racing games, any PC game i feel that will be better on the bigscreen i shall play, otherwise it will be on my 1200p IPS Dell.

as HDMI is limited to 720p 50/60Hz 3D,1080p 24Hz 3D i will be playing in 720p resolutions, but also for non 3D gaming it will be 1080p with all the eyecandy enabled.

would it be fair to say that 3D is going to use twice the processing power, as its delivering twice as many images? i plan to use nvidia's 3D Play technology as it supports my tv for this.

The card i have in mind is the geforce gtx670 2gb (research shows that 4gb doesnt really seem to benefit unless its a multi monitor setup, some games will push to 3gb)

Would this be enough to handle all of the latest games at 1080p, and perform flawlessly at 720p 3D ?

My current specs are ..

Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3
i7 2600k @ 5ghz
8gb g.skill ripjaws X CAS8
Asus gtx465 <---- waaaaaaah what a baby card LOL, but is doing me for now :)
XFX 650Watt 80+ Bronze Modular

Would i benefit from more RAM also for gaming? i assume not.

If overclocking is required im happy to do this also .. so happy to look at options that have good cooler setups, twin frozr etc.

Or do i wait for the next generation nvidia cards to come out ? (to be honest if this isn't too far away i wouldnt mind, simply because a friend bought a gtx670 and id like to show him up!! :pt1cable:  )

Thanks for the time reading this and your input!

Well if you got the money get the gtx 680. In 720p it will do great. Like to waste money? Get the gtx 690 or the soon to be available gtx titan whixh from what i heard is limited to 10000 units therefore you can "show him up"
