Question What speed will my ram be if xmp is off?

So, me and my friend had an argument,
ryzen 3rd gen supports ram up to 3200mhz. if i have 3200mhz dimms, just plug them in and boot into windows (no xmp/xfr)
will they run at 3200? or at 2133? 2400?

It really depends on the motherboard and memory used.

In many threads, members install higher rated memory and see it as 2133 (the baseline DDR4 speed) in their BIOS using default settings. Enabling a XMP profile allows for the higher speeds to be set. Undoing those settings will likely revert back to 2133 (in many cases).

This argument can be easily settled through making the changes as noted and seeing the results for yourselves.
