What SSD?

I am thinking of getting a ssd, something that will last (high quality and good specs). My old build had a 200 gig 7200 rpm, through about 6 years of use I only used about 110gigs of that (WinXP32).

How much space would I need realistically with a SSD with 7 64? I would most likely move my music and video to a raid drive (~20gigs).

Are there any new SSDs coming out that anyone is aware of / should I utilize my mobo's sata 6g?

In terms of space on the SSD; I would like to have 7, office, a few games, and maybe other medium programs (photoshop or something of the sort).

7 and updates take up at least ~20GB on my system, add 20GB more for your files and maybe 30GB for your applications, and that's 70GB. But you do mention that that you used 110GB on your old HDD. So, I would probably get a mechanical drive as well. As far as 6Gb/s, if your motherboard has a port for it, I would take advantage of it. There's been some buzz about the Corsair Force 3s...

As seen in the benchmark provided by curryj02, the Crucial m4 actually out performs the Agility in majority of the benchmarks.

So you think 120g would be enough? I would have a raid with a hhd for pure storage maybe music and video like I said.

What about corsairs new drive (might not be corsair :/, some company similar) supposed to be priced around $220 and spec higher than the ocz drives.. anyone know?

You are talking about the Corsair Force 3 drives, which are suppose to be out in a week or two. Until I see results, I would go with one of the drives listed above.

As for capacity, 120 GB is a good size for a SSD, specially for what you plan on putting on the drive.
