Question What succesfull OS's have you guys running on x58 Pro-e?

Im trying to get Windows 10 Pro on it and i manage to install it successfully but the next day the whole OS crashes not letting me log into windows giving me the recovery screen options.

A properly functioning x58 based system can absolutely work with Win 10.

Please give us the full specs. Make/model of everything.

3x g.skill ddr3 1333
3x Samsung ddr generic
Mobo: x58 pro-e
Rx580 8 gb
Ssd is a 128gb kingston

What im thinking is the SSD is bad.
Also thinking of going Linux
Also thinking of putting in an M.2 Pce adaptor and going Nvme. Not sure its going to support this tho lol.

Disregard an NVMe in an adapter.
Waste of money in that board.

Try a Linux install and see what happens.

I have one laying around planning to use it but ill follow your advice. Ive tried installing W7 and Linux but it doesnt see my Flash drive, not sure why. I havent dedicated alot of time tho. Im hitting it hard this weekend tho, see if I can get Linux running stable.

On a newer current system, no problem.
On an ancient board like that...no boot, and a waste as a secondary drive.

Thanks for the info . Ill try to change the SSD and try to install Linux on this puppy and see if I can get it running.
