Most laptops have poor thermal dissipation. For a relatively new laptop, if the fan intakes and exhausts are not obstructed, and the fans themselves are blowing plenty of warm air, then they are doing the best they can do.
You may consider dusting if it's more than a year old or so, or if it had seen a lot of usage in dusty places, like the average bedroom. There are plenty of guides elsewhere for that.
There are cooling stands available, which may or may not help depending on the design of both the stand and your laptop.
