WHAT THE MEANING OF Ti

Solution
if memory serves me right (good God this will show my age lol), Ti used to stand for Titanium. this was back in the days of Geforce 3,4 etc (cant remember if gf2 had it)

it is given to those models that are fast. Nowadays i dont know if its just Ti, but it remains the same that a Ti is faster than the non-Ti counterpart. say a 660 vs a 660Ti.
just to distinguish the 2.

it is similar to previous generations where they use GTS for lower models (slower), against the GTX which are the faster models (mid range to high end). hth
