What the gaming world needs for the Next PC street racing game.
What the PC gaming community wants and needs in the next street racer. The next million dollar raceing game franchise needs to have these elements to be successful
A. What has worked then but fails to work now
a. Need for speed
i. Worked then -Was a great game for a time when the gaming community needed plug and play cars to fine tune our racing skills on a controller.
ii. Not now - With the advent of gran turismo’s great number of market purchasable cars and realistic car upgrades tossed the plug and play cars out the window.
b. Driver
i. Worked then -Loved the mob story loved the objectives and elements of having to stay alive and not have to serve time in the jail. But plug and play cars will not work anymore.
ii. Not now - The objectives and the AI for the elements against the player are week at best for modern gaming.
c. Grand theft auto
i. Worked then -Great action of taking cars and running amuck and enjoying every style of shenanigans the human mind can think of.
ii. Not now - PC gamers want PC games not ported games developed for console then copied and pasted to the PC market, This game only had the police come after you. In real life if a
another car thief is working another’s turf they will come after you as well, so there needs to be some turf war elements to the game .
d. gran turismo
i. Worked then-Good selection of cars and car upgrades for track racing, had good music to race as well
ii. Not now - Even though it had a great selection of cars there are not any clunkers to fix up and turn into quarter mile supervises for bluffing others. Also Track racing gets boring and is not street racing, we want street racing got it.
What is needed overall
Make it as close to the Fast and Fourous style of street racing.
Element # 1. PC gamers want PC games, Make it for the PC only.
Element # 2. In our modern age of processing power and gaming graphics make it Beautiful, Make it detailed enough to see my face in the shine of the cars.
Element # 3. Make it real, Race for cash, pink slips, gold rings, wrist watches, car parts, Just like the street racing underground does it, If it is worth money race for it.
Element # 4. Realistic AI, I want the cops in the game to rally want to hunt me, and when I’m cough I want the ability to buy a lawyer to see if I can get off.
Element # 5. Cars Cars Cars, Make it full of Cars, every make and model my hard drive can hold, then put in the upgrades for each of those cars so I have to get another hard drive just to play the game.
Element # 6. Customize ability, we want to be able to customize the custom options with my customizing skills and then customize them again. We are talking Custom paint/ Wraps, custom wheels, rims, ground effects, the works. The more
the better
Element # 7. Race the Fool next door, Put it on the net let me race my friends, and the friends of my online friends too.
Element # 8. Make it an MMO if possible. Have a vocation relating to cars in the game, search nearby junk yards for parts, make back ally deals, go to parts stores, ect. If your no a mechanic in the game then pay the mechanic to put together your stuff for you. As the mechanic make the money for your knowledge, and sell the upgrade secrets to the competition, or get the client to buy your science. Get the paint shop to spray on the coolest looks and then take it to the car wash to get your ride detailed, Race your ride for money, Then take it for an oil change. Got a swee ride, enter a car show compition and win some sweet money. The more vocations the better. Rise in vocation level and get better.
Element # 9 Make stuff break, realistically, if my car is in the redline too long make it throw a rod, so I can tow it to the shop for the new engine.
Element # 10. Pick a large city and the outer suburbs to be the setting of this game.
Element # 11. Road hazards give me construction to move past, stupid slow AI drivers,
Element # 12. Pick a playing field of street raceing, demolition derby, drift, quarter mile, or location objective.
Element # 13. No Magic bullets, Make the game playable based on the skill and knowledge of the players, no one car with one upgrade can beat every car in existence so it should not work in game either.
Summery, No excuses game developers, If MMO’s Such as Arche Age, Age of Conan, The secret world, Star wars old republic, and so can produce games that look good and have a realistic feel with customizability then so can you. In Arche Age there is no zoneing I can sale the entire world from coast to coast and never have to zone. So trouble with zoning is not an excuse either. If this game model can be realized the game developer would become an international ikon Making Millions in profit in every country it is released.
Evern the introduction writes it’s self
The player starts off working at some low end shop changing oil, car show sweeping up the parking lot, Paint and body show pulling dents and cleaning up after the painter, auto parts store as a clerk, ect. As they are preformaing their jobs they notice stuff and start asking questions when the player is introduced into this underground reaching community and is throwen into the mix of the player’s choice of street racing style mentioned above.
Make this happen and PC gamers will pay lots to play.
