What the...WHATTT!!!!!!!

You can take a look at this chart and it shows you which score higher between your card and the 275. This chart is running 3dmark06 which is different than 3dmark vantage. Vantage is only for vista and direct x10, 3d mark06 is for direct x9. The score systems are different and yield different results.

I have 3 8800GTX ACS3 video cards in SLI and I am told by EVGA that they are pretty much on par with 1 295. I get 19450 3dmarks in 06. The 295 gets 23939 which does edge out my setup but likely wouldn't be noticeable in most cases.

So I think you would benefit from the upgrade, I don't think its marginal enough to do unless you are having issues with current games.

If you can afford it then have fun and get it, sell yours on ebay and recover some of the money. I did that with my CPU from the Q6600 to the Q9550 only because I recovered almost all of my money and got a slight performance boost.

That's just my opinion though...

I'm wondering why my post doesn't get front page attention. o_O

So I will piggy back off of the bigkid. =)

I figure since I do help others here a fair amount I can get away with this one time...

@ Randomizer:

Glad your I7 was a worthy upgrade from the E6600. I hate making upgrades and not seeing the benefit. I would love to jump to the I7 but I have so much invested in my system as it is and I have no issues to justify making the move + it would likely cost me another 600-700 bucks to do.

I guess I will have to wait until the next gen comes out... =/

englander..... you wrote ....'I don't think its marginal enough to do' what that mean.....it's like saying ...'the grass isn't short enough to mow' .....

I think maybe you didn't understand what I meant. You will get a performance boost with the new card but if you aren't having any issues with current gaming then you may not notice night and day performance making the upgrade.

Agree completely I was looking at buying a core i7 but my motherboard doesn't support it and if you buy a new motherboard you might as well throw in some new ram (either that or you need to because your motherboard does'nt support your old ram) and its a huge hassle. I say just wait till 16 core processors Intel is talking about them and it seems like after the 16 cores there isn't much left because they're running into over heating issues.
