Should i get an i5 9400f + b360m aorus pro + 8x2 2666mhz ram which costs around $462 or ryzen 5 2600 + msi b450 gaming plus + 8x2 3000mhz ram and costs $485. I am going to use it mainly for gaming and also for work.

What does "work" consist of?

The Ryzen platform makes a lot of sense for what you get (6c/12t), although for strictly gaming, the 9400F combo would probably have a very, very minor edge.

Only some programming, but i rarely use my desktop pc for it.
