I just installed my solid state drive and I have a few questions.

1. What do I do immidiately following installation of windows?

2. Will I be able to run programs off of my harddrive while booting from my solid state.

I feel like I don't quite grasp how ssd work in tandom with other drives. If one of you could explain to me how you use yours with your hdd that would be fantastic.

You already finished with basic setup. I have no idea why this is complicating you. You don't need to add shortcuts. That was just me suggesting that you can add shortcuts to programs on your HDD for easier access. You can always launch them from the HDD.
The SSD is supposed to replace your boot drive. The other drive is meant for storage. Since the SSD is small, it's meant only for the operating system, programs, and maybe games you wish to start up fast. Music, movies, and other files should not reside in the SSD.

1. What do you mean? Just use it as you would a normal hard drive? What do you normally do after installation of Windows? Naturally, boot it up and use it. 😵

2. If you installed programs in the hard drive, you can launch it from the hard drive. You can create a shortcut to your desktop if you want. Why not just install it to the SSD?

Oh ok, so do I needinstall all of my old drivers now? And then just use the hdd how I would use an external harddrive.

Well a lot of things aren't working with it, so I guess I will have to install all of my drivers again. And I meant that in the sense that I keep some programs and files on it that I don't need to be faster than usual. However how do I get all of my applications and shortcuts off of my hdd and onto my desktop?

I am wondering how to find them and their location on my hdd so I don't have to install them on my ssd again.

Can I copy my drivers over from my other installation of windows or do I need to go about and reaquire them all.

Ok thank you, and final question. Should I save all these new drivers onto my ssd?

Ok, and other than that, I just need to go to my hdd and add some shortcuts to my desktop then right? As far as basic setup goes?

Is there anyway to set it up, so that when I hit the windows key and search something, it searches all drives? Right now it is only searching the ssd.
