[SOLVED] What to do if pen drive has a virus?

So hi i just want to put my os from hdd to my new ssd. And i saw that i need usb pen drive to put the windows 10 file. But the only usb i have is 16gb usb. Im using it for my school. I used it to print , xerox at computer shop and pass my project to my teacher thru usb. And im scared to use it on my pc. Cause that usb im only using it on my other computer but not my personal. And what if it has a virus? Or maybe it can corrupt my windows 10 installer? What do you think guys? How can i know if it has a virus without affecting my pc?and how can i remove it😢? Thank you inadvance☺

However...if you use that pen drive to install WIndows with...ALL DATA on it will be wiped out.

Yeh i will delete all of my files☺.But how do you know it does not have a virus? Cause im really scared if the virus spread my pc.

Presumably your PC antivirus has scanned this device?

Uhmmm. This is my new pc i didnt try to put or use this usb. And the only antivirus that i have is malwarebytes.

Cause people said that if you open your usb that has virus your pc can get it too.but im not sure.

Don't open any files on it.

Omg thank you. Last question i searched on youtube that you must turn off the auto play so if it has a virus i will be safe. Is it true?

Yes.
Autoplay has been OFF by default, for several Windows versions.

What a fasincating thread. At first I thought you meant your pen physically has a virus but after reading you got Windows Installation in there. As the USAFRet mod guru said check with Defender and Malwarebytes then your safe. Also hope you got the latest with the media creation tool which is version 2004. I would just boot up a parted magic live cd and scan/format it there. Should be clean for sure then. If you've already had a trojan before, you're definitely right being this cautious.
