What to do with older version of windows?

I'm about to buy new motherboard and I'll be upgrading my windows to Windows 10. What should I do with my files ? and should I delete the older version of windows that's in my SSD?

I only have 1 storage which is SSD.

Save your personal files to elsewhere...some other drive. Have them offline and disconnected during this.

Then, How to do a CLEAN installation of Windows 10

Once you've verified there is NOTHING on that drive you wish to keep, you do a full wipe of everything on that drive.
This is during the install of Win 10.

In the above link, Section II, Step 6 & 7 speaks to deleting those old partitions.
