What to expect while gaming?

Just inherited a PC as my buddy just built a new one. He said it's still pretty good even for today's standards but he's into a lot of video/graphic design and said he needed a completely new board and parts...

I now have;
Intel core i7 6700 3.4Ghz
8gb of ddr4 2133 Mhz ram
MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Armor 8gb OC
2TB hard drive

So what sort of performance can I expect playing pc games? Is there something there that would definitely need changed or is it fine as is?

Dude I need a friend like yours. Depends on your monitor but at 1080p max everything. At 1440p it should push 120fps.

Yeh I know. He was in a car accident about a year ago (not serious or his fault) and just got his payout so I jokingly asked him for his PC and he just said..."Go ahead, it's yours... I'm gonna build me a beast"...
So I can literally buy games like BF1, Watch Dogs 2, The Witcher 3 and Deus Ex Mankind Divided and not worry about it?
