I bought a Intel i7-11700K CPU expecting a boost in performance and got none. Then I bought a ASUS Z590 ROG Maximus Hero XIII and got none either. Benchmarkers say mixed things about my CPU. 3DMark puts around 1000 points below par. Cinebench usually rates the same average to spectacular. Geekbench rates single-core high and multi a little below par. Passmark puts the The CPUat 76-86%. Who should I trust? What might boost me? My other hardware is 16 GB 3200Hz. RAM, ASUS Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080ti GPU, WD Blue 250GB SSD, Thermaltake Titanium 1250W PSU.

Don't know what you came from or how your measuring perf boost but let's see if something shows.

Download this.

UBM

Reboot.
Wait a few mins.
Run ubm with the browser closed.

I was also disappointed in gaming boost from 10th to 11 gen, supposed 19% ipc boost but definitely didnt seem like it, the per watt is also absolutely terrible on 11th gen lol

and I have been able to get 11900k to 6ghz with some tweaking ( cores disabled, extreme cooling etc) but have had nearly 0 gaming bump even w very high mem clock

funny enough i went from a 10600k to 11700k/11900k, per watt the 10600k completely destroys it and I swear in some games the 11700k/11900k just does worse. try enabling 6 cores on 11700k to compare directly to 10600k, per watt its hilariously worse than 10600k

You might want to update the bios and check the chipset driver.

Unplug the usb disk and rerun ubm.
Here's the results without USB drives. Asus ROG MAXIMUS XIII HERO Performance Results - UserBenchmark Reinstalling BIOS and chipset made no discerrnible difference
