[SOLVED] What to upgrade first for better performance?

CPU - Ryzen 5 2600
GPU - MSI GTX 1070 ti DUKE
MB - MSI X470 gaming plus
Cooler - Noctua NH-U12s
Power - 650W (Gold)
RAM - G.SKILL 2x8GB TRIDENT Z (3200)

Plenty of HHD/SSD


Was looking at the Ryzen 5 3600? Or to see any noticable improvement at this point would it be upgrading GPUs?

For games, you need to test your actual in game performance to find the most optimal upgrade.
Play your games - or at least your most trending titles - monitor gpu and cpu usage - EACH CORE/THREAD. If you just look at the cpu usage as a whole, you won't get an accurate measurement of how the cpu is holding up.

The one that maxes out the most frequently(at the settings you run) is likely the one that benefits the most from an upgrade - heads up, cpus can become a limitation with just a single thread.

I don't think I would upgrade to the same number of cores.

There should be one more generation of Ryzen CPU's before AMD moves onto a new socket so you may want to hold off for the 4th gen in 2020 to make it a more worthwhile upgrade over the 3600.
