Hi all,
I have a $1300 budget to upgrade my pc and i need to be able to get high framerate in fortnite, i get around 160 lowest settings but in competitive tournaments near the very end of every match i get around 5 - 20 frames. Its this bad because of the amount of people still alive in the game. Normally there will be around 2 - 10 people in the final parts of the game, but in the competitive modes there is around 40 - 50 so the framerate drops that bad and makes the end game unplayable. I'll try to respond to comments everyday if you have any questions.
Thanks
I have
Motherboard - B350M
CPU - Ryzen 3 1300x
GPU - GTX 1050ti
Memory 32GB ram

Solution
If you already have a 550-650watt PSU, buy a GTX 1660ti/RTX 2060 Super to start. If that isn't enough, upgrading the CPU won't require a platform change, just a motherboard bios update. Buy a Ryzen 5 3600 or 3600X if you don't want to overclock. An RTX 2070 or 2080 Super will require at least a 650watt PSU with 2x8pin PCIE. The Ryzen 5 3600X and GTX 1660ti will be around $520 before applicable taxes.

You could save $200 on the CPU upgrade and wait until next year when Intel releases the i5/7 10k series if you don't mind switching to Intel.

What's your motherboard model?
Power supply model?
Ram kit speed?
I take it you have a 144hz+ monitor?

I don't play fortnite, but I do recall problems with frames and end circles regardless of pc specs at one point and that chapter 2 introduced some more performance issues.

I'd first re-install/update your gpu drivers and perhaps re-install the game.

You can of course still upgrade, depending if your motherboard model has a bios update(which it should)
