I'm currently using a 1080p monitor and wanted to move up to 1440p but I'd like to keep a solid 60fps with the highest settings, here's my current parts list:
i5-4590
GTX970
16GB RAM
MSI Z97 GD-65 motherboard

I'll have about $1800 to spend but that will also include the monitor and whatever parts I get.
Thanks.

All you really need is a GTX 1080.

And maybe a new PSU depending on what it is.

And a I7 4790 or I7 4790K

Should be well within your budget.

PSU is a EVGA 750 watt so I think it should be fine.
I've read upgrading to the i7 doesn't make a huge difference for gaming, is that still true?

Not in todays' games, it can and will make a difference.

Just saw a teardown of the GTX 1070Ti.

It's weak.

Won't even be close to a GTX 1080.

I'd rather go for the 1080 or 1080ti since the 1080 isn't that much more expensive than the 1070ti anyways.
If I get a 1080ti and a 4790k, I still have like $700 left, what monitor would you guys recommend?

Any links? I don't think there have been any performance tests yet, have there?

None really as of yet.

A few early leaks...

But nothing serious yet.

Waiting to see some here also just to see, and I mean good ones from reliable reviewers.
