What to upgrade?

Here is my current setup:

Gigabyte H81M-S2H motherboard,
Intel I5-4460 CPU,
MSI GeForce GTX 750 TI GPU,
8GB DDR3 1600mhz RAM,
2TB HDD,
Windows 10.

I'm thinking about upgrading it, but not sure what to upgrade.

I've been looking at a few GPU's, these 2 are at the top end of my budget...
Asus Turbo GTX1060 6GB
MSI GTX970 4GB

Or a 500GB SSD & 16GB RAM.

Or an i7 CPU, not sure which model just yet.

I'm more of a software person and not too sure when it comes to hardware.

I'd like your opinion on my current system, the upgrades I've suggested and any other suggestions you may have.

I'd go with the GTX 1060 for the short term . It's a solid gaming and will give you a noticeably improvement over the 750. And it's a card that you can build your system around if you plan to upgrade your CPU.

Video card and solid state drive would be the most noticeable upgrades in your system. You should not need a different CPU for a few years.
