for 1440p,
you would need a more powerful graphics card like gtx 1070 or higher for med and high settings,
your current 1060 6gb can handle 1440p at reduced settings (low medium)
Personally not much needs change imo. If anything saved up money and upgrade to 16gb of DDR4 and either take the ryzen 2 or intel 8 series route. Probably doesn't need done but if you want you can
